What Is A Libertarian?

Libertarians derive their positions on the issues primarily from the Non-Aggression Principle and from the idea that our founding fathers intended our government to be small and limited, not the mega-state it has grown into today.

The Non-Aggression Principle states very simply: You are free to live your life as you choose, provided that you don’t initiate force against others.

These two concepts: the Non-Aggression Principle and the idea of small, limited government are at the core of every stand libertarians take on public issues. If you start with these core concepts and give your favorite issue a little, quiet contemplation, you can very likely conclude what the libertarian position would be on that issue. Try it!
